Afya Mzuri currently employes twenty -nine(29)
full-time staff who are based in one of the four offices
-Lusaka Head Office, the HIV Resource Centre , the Kitwe
and Choma Sattelite Offices. Staff are able to offer the
full range of services required for a successful design
and implementation of comprehensive workplace and community
programme.

Dr.Alison
Cooke Matutu
Executive Director
Dr Cooke-Matutu is a health information specialist with
a background in communications work for social change. She
has worked for Afya Mzuri for the past four years, initially
with responsibility for the establishment of the HIV resource
centre. She is responsible for the overall management and
running of the organization. Reporting to the Executive
Director is the Senior Management Team, comprising the Finance
and Administration Manager, the Workplace and Community
Programmes Manager and the Special Programmes Manager.

Mr. Ackson Malupande
Finance & Administration Manager
Mr Malupande, is a qualified accountant responsible for
all financial and accounting procedures, including donor
reporting, as well as managing the administrative team.
Mr Malupande is a Fellow of the Association of Chartered
Accountants (FCA), a Fellow of the Association of International
Accountants (FAIA) and a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered
Secretaries and Administrators (FCIS). He is the Finance
Manager within Afya Mzuri, having held senior positions
within a number of large companies and enterprises over
several years.

Mrs. Dummasseh Mfula
Workplace & Community Programmes Manager
Mrs Mfula is an occupational health specialist and has been
with Afya Mzuri for six years, directly responsible for
managing workplace and community programmes. Her vast experience
in implementing HIV workplace programmes for the workforce
spreads across the country and follows her successful completion
of a two-year contract as the DFID HIV Consultant for the
Ministry of Education.

Mr. Roman Katenda
Mukendi
Special Programmes Manager:
Mr. Mukendi has a strong background in project management,
having worked within a number of public sector and Non Governmental
Organisations (NGOs), including regional and international
media organisations. He holds a Bachelors degree (Economics)
and currently pursuing his Masters with a bias in health
communication. Mr. Mukendi is responsible for programmes
implemented by the M&E Unit, Resource Centre and the
Care & Support Unit.

Kaumbu Mwondela
Board Chairperson
Mr. Mwondela is a lawyer by profession with a sound background
in HIV-related legal issues. He is the founding board member
and chair of the Zambia AIDS-Law Research and Advocacy Network
(ZARAN). Kaumbu brings his wealth of experience and knowledge
on HIV/AIDS and legal issues to the work of Afya Mzuri and
the management team. He is currently practicing and has been
the Board Chair of Afya Mzuri since its registration in 2003.

Dr. Dorothy Kasonde
Board Secretary
Dr. Kasonde is a general medical practitioner with extensive
experience in HIV/AIDS related work. She specializes in HIV
treatment and provides services to many of the large companies
and organizations in Zambia. Dr. Kasonde runs a private practice,
Mutii Medical Center and serves on the board of the Private
Practitioners Association of Zambia. She has been on the board
of Afya Mzuri since registration and offered valuable input
and support to the organization.

Mr. Yotham Viyuyi
Board Treasurer
Mr. Viyuyi hails from the private sector with an enormous
amount of experience in human resource management. He is currently
the Human Resource Manager for Chilanga Cement (PLC), one
of the private companies Afya Mzuri has been implementing
workplace and community programmes for since inception in
the year 2000. He brings to the team insights and perspectives
that seek to enhance private sector engagement in the fight
against HIV and AIDS.

Ms. Uttara Kumar
Board Member
Ms. Kumar is a specialist in Behavioral Change Communication
(BCC) currently working as Acting Chief of Party for the
Health Communications Partnership (HCP) in Zambia. Ms. Kumar
has previously worked as founder and Executive Director
of an NGO called Nalamdana Trust,in India, and as the Regional
Communication Advisor in Southern Africa for the John Hopkins
Center for Communication Programmes. She has also worked
on a number of projects with Afya Mzuri. Her skills and
expertise contribute greatly to the work of Afya Mzuri with
specific regard to the Resource Center and the communications
unit.

Mr. Enock Banda
Board Member
Mr. Banda is an experienced specialist in Monitoring and
Evaluation (M &E) currently working as the M & E
Coordinator for the Catholic Relief Services (CRS). He has
previously worked for the Central Board of Health (CBoH),
the Ministry of Community Development and Social Services
as the Documentation Specialist and Planner respectively.
Mr. Banda has also undertaken a number of assignments in
planning, programmes, health related research, M & E
and management. His knowledge and expertise contributes
greatly to the work of Afya Mzuri not only in terms of general
management but augments the Afya Mzuri M & E Unit.
